OBJECTIVE: how to find the factor for different size slabs
Factor for 4in Slab: A cubic yard of concrete in inches at 36 x 36 x 36 equals 46,656 cubic inches. If there is one square foot of concrete measured in inches at 12 x 12 x 4 it equals 576 cubic inches. Divide 576 cubic inches/ 46,656 cubic inches and that equals a factor of 0.123.
Factor for 1in Slab: The concrete measurement is in inches at 12 x 12 x 1 which equals 144 cubic inches. Divide 144 cubic inches / a cubic yard and that equals 0.003
Factor for 5in slab: add 0.003 and 0.123.
*Use the 1in slab factor as the baseline to figure out bigger slab factors.
